Ki
Bon Do / Ki Bon Tae Kwon Do, Is a System of self defense based on the
traditional unarmed combat martial arts of Korea.
Kibondo is primarily a self defense system, NOT A SPORT! This Is very
important to consider when choosing a martial art. The key focus of
kibondo is personal development and self protection. There are no tournaments,
competitions or gold medals to be won.
Kibondo is very distinguishable by its kicking techniques. It is a style
which involves High dynamic kicks and a variety of strikes, blocks and
evasive maneuvers.
Unlike some systems of self defense, Kibondo is based on "traditional"
martial arts and works on a moral code, Philosophy and relaxation, as
well as effective self defense techniques.
"I
bet it's expensive"
This couldn't be further from the truth. The classes

are made to keep it that way.
There are of course the cost of a licence/Insurance which is currently
£15 a year (if after a month of light training you decide to join).
Uniforms can be purchased from us at I believe a very reasonable rate.

"But
I am not fit enough!"
It is not essential to have the abilities and physique of an Olympic
champion. Come as you are, However. Kibondo will help you to improve
your fitness levels and stay fit. It is a lot less boring than a treadmill
or exercise bike, and it stimulates your mind.
Apart from this, as you learn, you will not only become fitter, but
your progress will be visible in the form of grade promotion that earns
you coloured belts and eventually black belt. Don't be fooled into thinking
this is not possible for you. Train regularly and steadily with determination
and it will be so.
My name is Master Tom. Fourth Degree Black Belt. And I walked into my
first club as a man with no prior knowledge of the martial arts and
wearing old shorts and a tee shirt. I have never been super fit and
flexible, but now after 17 years of steady practice, I am headmaster
of Kibondo.
